I would get divorced, move into my own pretty little cottage by the water with a fence and a garden ( ok have to learn how first)... I might have a little TV in the living room but I want surround sound music. Speakers in every room. I would paint every wall a color and my bedroom will be RED... call it whatever you want, SLUT red.. is fine with me :) I would invite friends over for card night, girls night with wine and music and silliness, and even a kids night w lots of junk food, music, movies and Fun... I hope that I would let my kids decide where they want to live, either place would be ok with me, kinda. I would actually apply for my dream job. I would focus on the friends that I have let go by the wayside in return for 100% dedication to my kids. That right now is the biggest part of my life that is unbalanced. I need to work on that, seriously.

The Giver

The Giver - Lois Lowry

Yet another stop on my dystopian road. This also appeared on the list of the top ten dystopian books, so I decided to give this a shot as well. It took me a while to locate it at the bookstore because I didn't realize it was considered a 'teen' book. I decided to go ahead and read through it anyway, and was glad I did.

This book details a perfect world where everything is neat and orderly, and anything unsavory is swept under the rug. There is only one person that knows the true nature of all the goings on of the town, and he is called 'The Giver'. This book chronicles the happenings in the town as a new batch of children 'graduate' and are given their jobs. The main character is selected to receive all of the memories and wisdom from The Giver, but eventually decides that this isn't the life for him.

Neuromancer

Neuromancer - William Gibson

I came across this book when I was on a big dystopia kick, and this happened to be on the list of the top ten dystopian novels, so I decided to give it a shot. This book provides the first instance of the word 'cyberspace', but this was really all it was notable for. I thought it was slow-moving, poorly written, and hard to follow. I am usually able to visualize things well in my head, but Mr. Gibson was unable to paint a vivid picture for me

It's so nice

sooooooooo I made out with kirby! It was really nice and warm and romantic......He might be the cutest ever! haha We spent all day yesterday together in Oakland and i didn't get shot! We ate indian food, went to the park and finally back to his place to "see" his apartment and then we made out for a solid half an hour. score! I miss that so much just to have someone and we are in that phase where we just want to be touching all the time even after at dinner and drinks. I love that when it's just the two of you in your own world knowing what you have done together and no one else can touch it......it's been a long time since I felt that what is it intimacy? it's really nice and I think about him a lot, I might like him hahaha! Get to hang out with him again on Thursday, can't wait :)

Fatherland

Fatherland - Robert Harris

Yet another dystopian novel on the long kick... Ever wonder what would have happened had Nazi Germany won WWII? This book takes place in post-WWII Germany where Adolf Hitler is still the ruler of Germany. This book follows a German detective investigating the death of a high level Nazi official, and the various roadblocks he encounters throughout his investigation. The investigation leads to everything from romance to betrayal with an unexpected and bittersweet ending.

torn apart

(inhale)

you took me in when i wanted out
you took my heart when it wasn't for sell
you took my mind when i wasn't there
you took my soul when i was bare
you built me up and broke me down

"you had no right" i yelled
you had no right to shelter me with your arms
you had no right to stab me with your words
you had no right to feed me filth with your lies
you had no right to lead me to doom with your smile
you had no right to love me then to hate me with yourself

i had my shelter..of love
i had my heart.......of gold
i had my mind.......of good
i had my soul.........of pure
i had my temple
i had my crash

i have no shelter of trust
 no heart of faith
 no mind of wonder
 no soul of hate

i am torn apart

(exhale)
